This was one of my favorites in recent years. Nice to get a proper release :)
Thanks for the release! I had gotten Galan_rus_raw's release of this just a couple days ago, and since you spoke so highly of his and HQR's work from pornolab, I had to compare your release with his. Yours is certainly clearer, but I'm not sure if that's due to the encoding techniques used or the sources that you two used? Also, you're releasing more stuff in 1080p now, so I gotta ask, are they upscales or are the sources also in 1080p? I ask, because you did say you were going to do more 1080p releases for "memes" or something along those lines, so I'm not sure if there's a discernible difference between your 720p and 1080p releases. Lastly, this doesn't directly involve you, but due to your suggestions, I finally made an account at PL (thank you Google Translate) and I'm glad I did, but man is it hard to get my ratio up. There's a lot more seeders than leechers (usually a good thing), so it's difficult to maintain at least an even 1.0 ratio. To my understanding, the last Sat of every month is a freeleech day, so I suppose the best way to get my ratio up would be to download stuff on that day to continually upload afterwards?
[b]WaffleTiger[\b] Freeleech is also given for different holidays, for example 16 days for the new year or 14 days for the trekker's birthday Also, no one interferes to download the release from Puff on sukebei and join him in the share on pornolab when he appears there.
@**WaffleTiger** His source is from the DVDs, and fortunately SHOW-TEN's DVD mastering is pretty good, so it looks great apart from noticeable mpeg-2 artifacts when there's quick movements. Then there's just less actual definition on the DVDs. This web stuff is usually released in 1080p from the vendors, but like **most** anime these days, the native resolution is actually 720p. Some of the Pink Pineapple stuff is native 940p. The 1080p versions I'm releasing are descaled with help from [getnative](https://github.com/Infiziert90/getnative) or simply downscaled in somes cases and then re-upscaled using a better upscaler than the publisher used. This is essentially the meta in the anime scene rather than release stuff in native res which is often 720p, 810p, or 940p. If you can use NGU (madvr) or FSRCNNX (mpv) upscalers during playback, then the 720p version may be the one you want to grab since it'll be slightly sharper on playback since I only use 5 pass nnedi3_rpow2 with my 1080p releases due to personal preference. Although, filtering is only done at 720p on those, so the 1080p versions are probably better overall due to better precision, which results in grain etc. not being as huge.
@Puff Ah, makes sense about the source. I'm very glad web sources are getting better. Is there something wrong with leaving things in, say, PP's native 940p? Does it create weird borders or crops or something in certain players? I'm a complete novice when it comes to video editing, so when I see something is getting downscaled only to be re-upscaled again, it doesn't make much sense to me. In my head I make the analogy that it's like copying a copy of something, where each successive copy degrades the quality of the media. I'm sure technology is at a point where that's no longer the case and you can encode something multiple times without quality loss and in some cases maybe even improve upon it like you have. Looks like I'll stick with your 1080p releases then. Thanks!
@Puff Are you interested in remastering this and its sequel 母子相姦が日常化した親子…三年後、母を孕ませた息子~前編~(モーションコミック版)
@**WaffleTiger** No, there's nothing wrong with leaving it as the native resolution, but no one really does it, it's just brought back up the 1080p standard for memes. The descale reverses the original upscale (often a subpar kernal is used that introduces aliasing, or ringing) the studio did and a better upscaler is used than the publishers used as I explained, that's why it makes sense to do it. You can google "descale + anime encoding" and you will find a lot of info on it if you are confused. These encodes in specific are only encoded once by the way. Everything taking place happens with instant editors like avisynth+, or vapoursynth before it's even encoded. @**romle** Those are already available in source quality and motion comics aren't really my priority anyway. I've only been releasing ones that don't have releases shared yet.
I don't know why but I loved it!
