Welcome to the second ever upload of the Cream Lemon Archival Project! It is our goal to preserve the original 1984 Cream Lemon series without interference from Japanese censorship. We are combining softsubbed translations from LamonAE, Japanese video sources, along with newly-uncovered and restored video sources from the United States and Brazil to create new softsubbed and uncensored MKV releases of as many of the original Cream Lemon episodes as we can get our hands on. This release is another proof of concept of an uncensored Cream Lemon release that will be done later down the line. The same tape that had episode 1 of Cream Lemon also had episode 5 (which picks up right where episode 1 left off)! For those not in the loop, 12 uncensored episodes of the original series (8 of which have never been seen online in uncensored form) have recently been uncovered in Brazil, and our Brazilian source is in the process of gathering all of them and getting them to us. Today’s second presentation is episode 5: Ami Again, featuring the ever-so-popular Ami character. Over 50 shots had to be replaced with Brazilian footage in this one (which also had hardcoded Portuguese subtitles) in order to remove Japanese censorship. The Brazilian tapes are from an official line of releases through Everest Video do Brasil, and thus feature the uncensored footage. However, this episode’s tape is in rather poor shape. This does not take off the table the possibility that the other episodes may be of better quality and require less digital restoration to combine with Japanese LD/VHS/DVD footage in the future. A v2 of episodes 1 and 5 may come out if a better uncensored source is made available to us. Look forward to future releases. Want to help restore the footage or work on the scripts?
